Spilling the Beans... About Beans in Skin Care

Eminence Organics Skincare has 2 powder exfoliants. The beloved Strawberry Rhubarb Dermifoliant with lactic acid is a gentle way to polish dead skin cells off the surface of the skin. Lactic acid is an exfoliating alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) that helps promote the shedding of dead skin cells. Simply shake a nickel sized amount in your palm, add a few drops of water to turn it into a paste and gently massage in. Rinse off in the shower or with a warm washcloth. The benefit is tighter looking pores and smoother skin, that is more receptive to your serums and moisturizers. The product pulls into the skin layers deeper resulting in a more even skin tone. An added bonus is you may find you need less moisturizer because the surface dryness has been removed so the moisturizer isn’t sitting on the dry skin.

The second powder based exfoliant is Stone Crop Fizzofoliant which is part of the Microgreens collection. β€œYour anti pollutions solution” are the words used by Eminence itself. The secret to this amazing product is the adzuki bean powder. It contains a natural foaming agent called saponin that helps cleanse pores by removing dirt and dead skin cells, drawing out impurities and promoting circulation. This green powder with a few drops of water starts to foam and fizz up, helping to soften blackheads and lift them to the surface. Even the most congested skin is going to see results and with consistent use, blackheads will be removed more easily and will help prevent them from coming back.

If a powder exfoliant isn’t right for you, there are other alternatives. The Charcoal Exfoliating Gel Cleanser from the Gemstone collection has malachite crystals, which combined with the peppermint and charcoal, gives the feeling of a deep and refreshing clean.

Eminence also offers Exfoliating Peels in four different formulas from the VitaSkin line. They include Firm Skin, Clear Skin, Bright Skin and Calm Skin. They are simple to use. One pump onto a cotton round and gently wipe onto face. Wait 3 minutes before applying your next product. The exfoliating peels do not need to be neutralized.

Radish Seed Refining Peel from the Biodynamic line has AHA’S and BHA’s. It’s a gel like paste with bits of sesame seeds and radish in it. It is gentle enough for all skin types and extremely effective in calming down a breakout as well as helping prepare the skin to easier extractions.

Yam & Pumpkin enzyme peel 5% accelerates the exfoliation process with enzyme peel that removes dead skin cells, reduces the appearance of pigmentation, fine lines and sun damage. Leaves skin looking firm and radiant. For use as a bi-weekly treatment at home in conjunction with professional in-spa enzyme peel treatment. This product must be purchased together with the Soothing Chamomile Tonique to neutralize the peel. Not for use on active acne lesions
